I’m sharing something today that is deeply personal. As a creative and coach, I feel it is my purpose to call forward the creativity of others. I do this in big and small ways. The opportunity I’m sharing in this post feels like my most creative work to date. I know how powerful it is, and I want to invite you in.
In talking and teaching and coaching hundreds and hundreds of creatives, I can tell you this: the way you get your creative projects done is by making a mess, then making sense of the chaos, and emerging as something much more new and much more you.
As a creative, I know how absolutely core our creativity is to our souls. It’s not just about productivity, but it’s the process. And when we get disconnected from the process because *waves hands* life, it’s painful on a level I think few others truly understand. It’s like we’re starving a part of ourselves.
It’s not about the likes (but hey, please do, and subscribe). It’s about how we feel when we are in flow. When you’re doing it alone, which includes you if you have a big following on the cold heartless internet, it’s hard to take those big leaps.
So, tada, I have a solution for you. I know this works, because one of our community members in the Unleash Creativity Club shared this:
I want to thank Marc Scheff and this community for everything. It's 1AM and I have not only written after 15 or so years, but I am looking at a new painting and old projects I had abandoned for over 2 years.
He had a mess on his hands, a mess of ideas and dreams. Writing ideas, art projects, laying fallow. Have you been there? Do you know what it’s like to see the stack of notes, ideas, half finished or half-heartedly starting… things.
With the right community as the wind in his sails, he’s ready for a new creative adventure. I just watched a live stream of him working on a new big painting, first in a long time, now that he’s in the club.
They continued.
Plus I submitted work to a writing competition AND this student show selection.
Courage. Confidence. Bravery. It’s something we all want. But we talk ourselves out of it all the time. Our inner critic tells us “You won’t get in” or “Nobody will like it.” And your creative soul does. not. care. Your creative soul wants to CREATE and share it, damn the results. That is what feels good, more than anything, being able to say you created and created and created and we have tools and resources so you will.
And their result, your result of feeling more in your creative soul is all but guaranteed.
They continued.
I don't think I would have done any of that without everyone's support. I am super grateful.
Awareness. Action. Gratitude (for us, yeah, but also for their own creative process).
The mess is starting to make sense. The ideas are coming together. The action, which was obviously not happening, now is. It’s not actually much more complicated than that, the action is happening. They are doing it.
So can you.
Below is a video of some of the things we have at your fingertips so that you can truly be seen and heard and get back in your flow. Honestly, everyone says “you’re not alone!” And in this space, you are truly not in a way unlike a social media listserve or group. The real connections in our program will help you strive to create in ways that you haven’t for years.
Below is a video where I take you directly into our private platform and you can see some of the ways our members engage and support each other. Extroverts and introverts are all welcome here, and we make space for everyone.
